AMRIT MANGAT TAKES ON NEW PORTFOLIO, NEW RESPONSIBILITIES
MPP will help build a stronger Ontario as Parliamentary Assistant for the Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs
PEEL – Amrit Mangat, MPP for Mississauga-Brampton South has been given new roles and responsibilities as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announced Premier Dalton McGuinty today.
“I am honoured to have been chosen for this important role,” said Mangat. “I look forward to working with Minister Smith and ensuring that Ontario is treated fairly by the federal government when it comes to child care, health, immigration and the environment.”
Parliamentary Assistants work with ministers on key priorities and projects within their portfolios. Amrit Mangat was previously the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister Responsible for Seniors.
“Our government has been working hard to strengthen the economy and improve the public services our families depend on,” said Premier McGuinty. “Amrit Mangat in her new role will help us build on our accomplishments and create opportunity for Ontario families.”
